Cloud cost estimator
A rough monthly bill from instances, storage, egress and requests, with editable illustrative unit prices, so you can say which line dominates.
Illustrative prices. The default unit prices are round numbers for estimating, not any provider’s actual rates. Check current pricing for your provider and region, and edit them here.

How this is calculated
- Compute
instances × $/hour × 730(hours in an average month). Committed-use discounts can take a large slice off this line.- Storage
GB stored × $/GB-month, for block and object storage separately. Remember replicas and backups multiply GB stored.- Egress and requests
GB out × $/GBandmillions of requests × $/million. Traffic inside a zone is often free; across zones and regions it usually isn’t.- Total
(sum of lines) × (1 + overhead), then × 12 for a year.
What to say in the interview
- “As a rough order of magnitude this lands around $5,236 a month, about $62,832 a year, using round unit prices I’d check against real pricing.”
- “Egress is the biggest line at 33.6%, so that’s the one worth optimising; a CDN in front and compression would cut it directly.”
- “At 500M requests a month, the all-in cost is about $9.52 per million requests, which is the number to compare against what each request is worth to the business.”
